HERITAGE SKILLS SPECIALIST LEADWORKER CSCS CARDS

The LCA secretariat has already processed more than 100 applications for the Heritage Skills Specialist Leadworker CSCS card.

In a special arrangement agreed by CSCS and Construction Skills, the Lead Contractors Association are responsible for processing all applications for the new Heritage Skills card during the “Managed Industry Accreditation” period.

Effectively a “grandfather rights” concession, the Managed Industry Accreditation route enables skilled and experienced leadworkers to gain their card without the need to go “back to school” for formal assessment and training.

However, time is running out to take advantage of this route, as the “Managed Industry Accreditation” period finishes on 30th September 2010 and once this window closes, it closes for good.

After this date, the only way to gain a Heritage Skills Specialist Leadworker CSCS card will be through assessment at NVQ Level 3, which will involve assessment fees of £1,000 and a further training cost of upto £1,500.

During the Managed Industry Accreditation period, there is simply a one off card fee payable to Construction Skills of £30 per person.
