New Training Initiative

The Lead Sheet Association are making available exclusively to LCA Members a discounted training offer that equates to a massive £5,250 off their normal training fees.

For a limited period only, LCA members can book up to 30 five day Advanced Silver Level course for only £275 instead of the usual LCA Members fee of £450 – saving £175 per person!

Plus, you will not be restricted to a set week, you can book your training to take place any time up to 31st May 2010, which means you can choose any date from now to 31st May to attend the purpose built LSA Training Centre at East Peckham, Kent – you can even do it in single days spread over several weeks, rather than in one concentrated week, if that’s what suits you best.

The courses will remain flexible and each of the disciplines and detailing covered by the full Silver Course are available from the LCA. You can specify which of the elements you want your operatives to tackle in order to gain an accreditation towards the Advanced Silver Level Certificate, allowing them to focus on details in which their skills need upgrading. They will, however, need to demonstrate their ability to the instructors / assessors in all of the details shown in order to gain the full Advanced Silver Level Certificate. To gain the full certificate from scratch (for someone who has basic bossing and welding skills) would take upto 15 days training, in order to cover all the disciplines.

THIS OFFER IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO LCA MEMBERS UNTIL 30TH NOVEMBER 2009.

In order to take up this offer you will need to contact the Lead Contractors Association (by Email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phone on 01342 317888) by 30th November 2009 and register your operatives, stating the dates you want their training to take place. These dates can be any time up to 31st May 2010 and can be in the form of five single days or a block booking of five days at a time.

THIS OFFER IS AVAILABLE ON A “FIRST COME” BASIS

THIS OFFER IS EXCLUSIVE TO LCA MEMBERS

THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE AMOUNT OF TRAINING THAT CAN BE REGISTERED BY EACH MEMBER, PROVIDED WE ARE NOTIFIED BY 30TH NOVEMBER 2009 AND THE TRAINING TAKES PLACE BEFORE 31ST MAY 2010.

The detailing covered by the Advanced Silver Level Course will be an integral part of the qualifying criteria for the imminent Heritage Skills CSCS Card for leadwork, which will be required by all leadwork contractors working on heritage properties – particularly those involving English Heritage. Following the All Party Parliamentary Group Memorandum of Understanding, signed by the APPG, English Heritage, National Heritage Training Group and Construction Skills, the CSCS Heritage Skills card will be introduced during 2010 and affect all those working on pre1919 buildings.

The leadwork element of the Heritage Skills CSCS card is currently under development and will be available shortly. Full details will be circulated to LCA members as soon as they are available and, as with the standard CSCS scheme, there will be a Managed Industry Accreditation route available until September 2010 that LCA members will qualify for. Regardless of trade, anyone holding a standard CSCS card WILL NOT be automatically upgraded to a Heritage Skills Card
