ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL CHARITY GOLF DAY PDF Print E-mail

Despite a clash of events affecting turn out on the day itself, the financial support for the LCA's annual Charity Golf Day on 20th September was as strong as ever.

With ten four man teams competing in at the East Sussex National Golf Club for a superb array of team prizes sponsored by Associated Lead Mills, including Odyssey putters, TaylorMade wedges and Skymar bags for each winning team member, it was though without doubt the Royal Variety Club of Great Britain that was the overall winner. Thanks to further support from those attending the presentation dinner and sponsors of tee boxes, raffle and golf prizes, the event raised more than £4,700 and completes the LCA campaign to buy outright a brand new Sunshine Coach for the Variety Club, which will be presented to them early in the New Year.

On the day Maguire Brothers took the team honours with 120 points, beating Barnett and Barnett (114 points) and Salmon (Plumbing) (112 points). Some great individual prizes, including a Ping Tour bag, Pringle clothing and Hippo travel cover were sponsored by British Lead Mills. Eamonn Hunt (Maguire Brothers) took first place from Peter Lane (Associated Lead Mills), with Paul Lewis (1st Supplies) coming third.

The LCA would like to thank all those that participated in, sponsored or otherwise contributed to another very successful LCA event and we now look forward to building up funds to buy a thrid Sunshine Coach.
